What the service includes

Train travel with a pet

From your door to the right station entrance, without guesswork.

A pet taxi for the train station must account for the train number, time, entrance, dog on a lead and muzzled, cat in a small closed carrier, passengers and luggage.

Our pet taxi train station service provides pre-booked door-to-door transfers to and from the main Paris stations. Owners travel with their pet and the vehicle is selected from the real volume declared.

For departures, we allow time for traffic, unloading and reaching the platform. For arrivals, the train number, origin and a precise meeting point make collection easier.

Paris’s 7 main stations

Each station has its own entrances, halls and routines.

We confirm the station, hall, door or street before pickup because a major Paris station rarely has only one entrance.

What pickup time should I choose?

A practical example for a 10:00 train.

The required time depends on the address, traffic, unloading, station and operator controls.

TGV or domestic train

Leave home08:30Reach station09:15Train departs10:00

Example from Paris’s 15th district to Gare de Lyon: leave at 08:30, aim to arrive at 09:15 and keep 45 minutes for unloading, finding the hall and reaching the platform.

International train or Eurostar

Leave home07:45Reach station08:30Train departs10:00

Allow more time for international checks and operator rules. For Eurostar, always confirm that the pet is accepted before booking the taxi.

These are cautious examples, not a guarantee. The exact pickup is calculated from the address, date, traffic, station, train, pet and luggage.

Before booking

The details needed to send the right vehicle.

Precise information prevents a vehicle that is too small, the wrong entrance or insufficient time.

Pet

Breed, weight, age and behaviour. For rail travel, a suitable lead and muzzle are mandatory; no dog crate is required for a station journey.

Passengers and luggage

Adults, children, cases, bags, pushchairs, wheelchairs, folded bicycles and oversized items.

For a dog: lead and muzzle. For a cat: a size-S carrier or small closed soft bag. Also check your operator’s rules.

Your preparation before pickup

Dogs, cats and small pets

Dog and cat transport to the train station

Rail rules differ from airport rules: IATA dog crates concern air transfers. On the train, dogs use a lead and muzzle; cats remain in a small closed carrier.

Dog transport to the station

For a station journey, a dog does not travel in a crate: dog travel crates concern airports. On TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS, the dog must remain at the owner’s feet, on a lead and muzzled throughout. The SNCF penalty schedule lists a €50 fine for a dog that is not restrained and muzzled. Always check the operator.

  • ✓Lead or harness held throughout
  • ✓Suitable muzzle worn throughout
  • ✓Pet ticket checked
  • ✓No dog crate required for a station journey

Cat transport to the station

A cat remains in a size-S carrier or small closed soft bag. On TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS, it must not exceed 45 × 30 × 25 cm and stays on your lap or at your feet.

  • ✓Size-S carrier or small closed soft bag
  • ✓Absorbent pad and familiar fabric
  • ✓Maximum train dimensions checked
  • ✓Cat carrier and luggage declared

Vehicles, cat carrier and luggage

The right vehicle depends on the total volume.

A cat’s small carrier, cases and passengers can quickly fill a boot. For a dog, we need its size but not a crate for a station journey.

For cats only

Use a size-S carrier or small closed soft bag. On TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS, the limit is 45 × 30 × 25 cm. IATA dog crates are for airport transfers.

Cases and bulky items

List cases, bags, pushchairs, medical equipment, wheelchairs and oversized items separately. We may recommend a van or second vehicle.

FAQ

Pet taxi train station questions

How early should I arrive?+

We often suggest 30 to 45 minutes for a domestic train and more for international services. Pickup time also includes traffic, unloading, luggage, your pet and station access.

Does the driver monitor train delays?+

The train number lets us check public information. Remain reachable and send any change of time, station or meeting point.

Does a dog need a crate on the train?+

No. For a station journey, the dog travels without a crate, at your feet, on a lead and muzzled throughout. Dog crates concern airport transfers. A pet ticket is also required on relevant trains. SNCF lists a €50 fine for an animal that is not restrained and muzzled.

How must a cat travel on the train?+

The cat must remain in a size-S carrier or small closed soft bag. On TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS, the maximum is 45 × 30 × 25 cm and it stays on your lap or at your feet. Always check the operator.

Can the driver meet me inside the station?+

An indoor meeting can be considered depending on parking, station access and time. It must be agreed before the journey and may involve extra waiting or parking.

Are pets accepted on Eurostar to London?+

Ordinary pets are generally not accepted on Eurostar services to or from London. Specific rules apply to guide and assistance animals; check directly with Eurostar.
