Airport pet taxi

Air travel requires the right timing, terminal, luggage space and pet carrier. We prepare the vehicle around the actual volume and the information supplied for collection.

AnimalCab

What the service includes

Airport transfer with a pet

A journey planned around the flight, the pet and your luggage.

An airport pet taxi is not selected from passenger numbers alone. Your pet’s size, the carrier, luggage, terminal and collection point determine the vehicle and pickup time.

AnimalCab organises door-to-door transfers to and from the main Paris airports. Owners can travel with their dog, cat or small pet. Before confirmation, we check every carrier’s dimensions and the number and type of bags.

For an arrival, provide the flight number and exact meeting point. For a departure, we take the airline’s check-in time into account. Cargo, customs or live-animal handover formalities must be mentioned so that the schedule and quotation can be adapted.

Your journey, clearly explained

Pet taxi, airport transport, transfer and private shuttle

These terms describe the same practical need: travelling to or from a terminal with your pet, passengers, carrier and luggage in a suitable vehicle. AnimalCab arranges each pre-booked door-to-door journey.

Pet taxi

A specialist service for a dog, cat or small pet travelling with its owner. The vehicle is selected for the pet, carrier, passengers and cases.

Pet transport or airport transfer

Direct pickup between a home, hotel, station, Cargo area or airport, with timing planned around the flight and terminal.

Private airport shuttle

A private, non-shared shuttle booked in advance for your group and pet, without a fixed public route or additional stops.

Private driver or chauffeur

A professional driver booked for your transfer, with a vehicle suited to the animal, carrier, passengers and luggage declared.

Pet taxi is used here to describe a specialist pre-booked transport service. Every journey is organised with a private driver and a vehicle adapted to the booking details.

Plan before pickup

Every airport and terminal has a different drop-off point.

The airport code is not enough. We request the terminal, airline, flight number and meeting point to plan the most direct access.

Paris CDG — all terminals

Timing example

10:00 flight: when should you leave Paris?

Example from Avenue Kléber to CDG, allowing one planned hour on the road and 30 minutes to load, secure the crate and absorb an initial delay.

International flight

Leave Avenue Kléber05:30→At the airport07:00→Take-off10:00

Recommended arrival 3 hours early: at CDG by 07:00, AnimalCab pickup at 05:30.

France or Europe flight

Leave Avenue Kléber06:30→At the airport08:00→Take-off10:00

Recommended arrival 2 hours early: at CDG by 08:00, AnimalCab pickup at 06:30.

This is a cautious example, not a universal time. Hold or cargo travel, health checks, busy periods or airline instructions may require more time. We recalculate the final pickup from the terminal, traffic and actual procedure.

Before booking

The details that prevent surprises on the day of travel.

A few measurements and references are enough to send the right vehicle and set a realistic pickup time.

Flight and terminal

Flight number, airline, date, scheduled arrival or departure time, terminal and meeting area when known.

Pet

Species, breed, weight, age, any behavioural needs and the total number of animals travelling.

Travel carrier

Length, width and height of every carrier, and whether it is rigid, soft, collapsible, cabin, hold or IATA.

Passengers and luggage

Adults and children, checked and cabin cases, bags, pushchairs and oversized items.

Dogs, cats and small pets

Dog and cat transport to the airport

Airport pet transport must be prepared around the species, size, carrier and airline rules. AnimalCab selects the vehicle and pickup plan so dogs and cats reach the terminal comfortably with their owner on board.

DOG

Dog transport to the airport

For dog transport to the airport, we check breed, weight, behaviour, the planned flight procedure and crate dimensions. Before entering the terminal, a comfort walk helps the dog relax and meet its needs.

  • Lead, secure harness and ID tag ready
  • Muzzle available when required
  • Rigid crate measured for hold or cargo travel
  • Vehicle selected for the dog, crate and luggage
CAT

Cat transport to the airport

Airport cat transport takes place in a properly closed carrier. We recommend an absorbent pad, familiar fabric and an owner identification label. The carrier stays closed during the road journey and should only be opened in a secure area.

  • Closed, ventilated and suitably sized carrier
  • Absorbent pad and familiar fabric inside
  • Door and locks checked before pickup
  • Carrier, passengers and cases declared in advance

A straightforward journey from your door to the terminal.

Each stage is confirmed in advance so the driver, passengers and pet share the same information.

  1. 01

    We confirm the volume

The pet, carrier, passengers and luggage determine whether a pet taxi, saloon or van is required.

  2. 02

    We confirm the meeting point

Address, time, reachable phone number, terminal and meeting point are checked before the journey.

  3. 03

    The driver collects you

The vehicle arrives in the agreed configuration with room for every item declared.

  4. 04

Drop-off or collection takes place at the agreed point. Additional waiting is handled under the confirmed conditions.

Carriers, pets and vehicles

The right vehicle depends on the real volume, not only the number of passengers.

An XXL carrier can occupy most of a boot, which is why exact dimensions are required before confirmation.

Cabin, hold and IATA carriers

A small soft carrier may fit in a saloon with a few cases. A rigid XL, XXL or XXXL crate usually requires a van. Always confirm airline compliance with your airline or freight agent.

Cases and special luggage

List checked cases, cabin bags, pushchairs, medical equipment and bulky items separately. If everything cannot be safely loaded into one vehicle, we suggest a van or a second car.

Air crate guide

From S to XXL: the letter alone does not make a crate IATA-compliant.

S, M, L, XL and XXL are commercial categories. IATA does not define a universal dimension for each letter: size must be calculated from the animal and accepted by the airline and aircraft.

S

Very small pet or cabin bag, subject to airline limits.

M

Cat or small dog; check combined weight and cabin dimensions.

L

Medium dog; often a rigid crate carried in the hold.

XL

Large dog; substantial volume and generally a van transfer.

XXL

Very large dog; exact measurements, doorway and vehicle must be checked.

An “IATA” or “approved” label on a crate never guarantees acceptance at the desk.

Measure the animal standing

  • A: nose tip to base of tail
  • B: floor to elbow joint
  • C: shoulder width or widest point
  • D: floor to top of head or ears

Indicative minimum internal dimensions

  • Length = A + ½ B
  • Width = C × 2
  • Height = D + bedding
  • Snub-nosed breed: 10% larger crate under IATA guidance

The animal must be able to stand and sit erect, turn normally and lie naturally. Send us a photo and external crate dimensions so we can select the vehicle; ask the airline to confirm acceptance for the flight.

Official checks

Before departure, always compare your file with current airline and destination rules.

FAQ

Airport pet taxi questions

How long after landing should I book the driver?+

This depends on the airport, terminal, baggage reclaim, passport control and pet formalities. Cargo collection may take longer. We set a realistic time from your circumstances and flight number.

Does the driver monitor the flight?+

The flight number helps us check available public information. You must remain reachable and tell us about any change of flight, terminal or animal handover point.

Can you carry an XXL or XXXL IATA crate?+

Yes, subject to its exact dimensions and the passenger and luggage count. A van is generally required for large rigid crates. Send length, width and height before booking.

Can the owner travel with the pet?+

Yes. Available seats depend on the vehicle, carrier and luggage. We check the whole configuration before confirmation.

Can you collect animals from Cargo?+

Collection may be arranged depending on the airport, handover point and formalities. Provide the freight agent, Cargo address, times and required documents. Special assistance or waiting must be included in the quotation.

Which documents are required for air travel?+

Requirements depend on the animal, airline and destination. Check passports, identification, vaccinations, health certificates and carrier rules with the airline, your vet and the relevant authorities.
